My unique background enables me to provide a distinctive service: Life Decision Coaching.

As a Life Decision Coach, I guide individuals and families through life-shaping decisions.  I help people come to choices that make sense in the head and feel right in the heart, so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.  To do this, I blend analytical decision science with the softer skills of life coaching.  I have coached people through family, career, financial, medical, and personal decisions.  For more details on my services, please see my services page or contact me.

I am a professional member of the International Coach Federation and a past board member of SFCoaches.  I have spoken at the annual conferences of the ICF and INFORMS.  I have also appeared in many other venues, including "The Coaching Show" on internet radio, and Mariposa Leadership's "Wise Talk" program.

My path as a life decision coach has sprouted from my experience - as an executive, a teacher, a consultant, and a student.

Executive:  I served as the founding Executive Director of Decision Education Foundation (DEF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering teenagers with better decision skills so they can lead better lives.  Together with a team of world-class decision-scientists, I built DEF into an impactful organization helping teens across the country.

Teacher:  I am a natural teacher.  When I work with clients on life-shaping decisions, I leave them with tools to make better decisions in the future.  In addition to teaching decision analysis to Stanford University graduate students, I also have taught all levels of high school math and physics.  I have taught at Punahou School and Iolani School in Honolulu, at Stanford University's Educational Program for Gifted Youth, and at Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth, where I also served as Academic Chair.

Consultant: I worked as a management consultant atBain & Company, where I helped Fortune 100 companies make big decisions.

Student:  I earned an MS in Decision Science from Stanford University, where I received multiple fellowships.  Stanford's Decision Science program provided the foundations for my approach to making good decisions.  I also earned a BA in Physics with highest honors from Harvard University.  I earned my CPCC (Certified Professional Coactive Coach) from Coaches Training Institute.

My experience has laid the foundations for my role as Life Decision Coach.  I get to use my expertise to help people shape their lives.  Lucky me!
